By Car

Located right off of the A2 motorway, Messe Basel is easily reached by car. The 'Messe' exit from the A2 motorway leads directly to the exhibition grounds. A multi-storey car park adjacent to the Exhibition Square accommodates 1200 vehicles.

By Train

Basel is situated in the heart of Europe making it a rail hub with excellent national and international links, including direct connections from Germany, Austria, Italy, France and the Benelux countries. Basel’s three railway stations - Basel SBB (Switzerland), SNCF (France) and Basel Badischer Bahnhof - are in close proximity (5-10 min) to the show venue.

By Plane

Messe Basel can be reached quickly and easily from EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (approx. 8km). Zurich Airport, the largest international airport in Switzerland, is about an hour away (approx. 90km). Both airports have excellent international flight connections.

Public Transport

EuroAirport is well conntected to the exhibition centre in downtown Basel. Bus no. 50 will take you to the central railway station (Bahnhof Basel SBB). Tram line no. 2 connects SBB with Basel's Exhibition Square. The journey takes about 30 minutes.

There are frequent trains between Zurich Airport and Bahnhof Basel SBB, taking about an hour.

Taxi

Depending on traffic, it takes about 10 minutes to get from EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg to Messe Basel by taxi. Taxis can be found outside the terminal building (Swiss sector).

By Public Transport

Basel's tram and bus network ensures that visitors can get around quickly and comfortably.

From the Swiss / French train station (Basel SBB / SNCF) Basel Messe can be reached within 10 minutes using tram no. 1 or 2. From the German train station (Basel Badischer Bahnhof) you can use tram no. 2 or 6 to the exhibition grounds (5 min).

BaselCard

Guests staying in a hotel in Basel receive a personal guest card during check-in. The BaselCard enables guests to use public transport in the city of Basel and its surroundings (including EuroAirport) free of charge for the duration of their stay.

Visa Information

We recommend you start your visa application process well ahead of time, especially if you need to have personal appointments at the embassy. Applications can be made as early as six months before the time of travel.

Is a visa required? 

Check if you require a visa to enter Switzerland. The State Secretariat for Migration provides an overview of ID and visa provisions according to nationality and information for entry to Switzerland.

Need an invitation letter? 

Our team will support trade visitors and exhibitors with their visa applications by issuing an official invitation letter to the show. Please note that, due to legal reasons, we are not authorised to carry out any visa applications on behalf of others, nor do we accept any financial or organisational responsibility for travel arrangements. The Show Team does not have influence over availability of visa application appointments.
