Azelis to Take Over Canadian Specialty Chemicals Distributor Chemroy

Azelis has acquired Chemroy, a Canadian distributor of specialty chemicals and food ingredients founded in 1967. According to Azelis, Chemroy is complementary in terms of markets served, principal relationships and product offering, enabling Azelis to become one of Canada's leading specialty distributors with a strong position in the CASE (coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers), construction, ink, food, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and personal care segments.
The international distributor headquartered in Antwerp, Belgium, acquires 100% of Chemroy Canada Holdings, Brampton, Ontario. Chemroy has 59 employees, further offices in Laval, Quebec, and Vancouver, British Colombia, and warehouses across Canada.
Commenting on the announcement, Frank Bergonzi, CEO and President Azelis Americas, said: "We share similar values and culture, and this combination will ensure a more robust product portfolio to our customers."
Azelis’ Group CEO Hans Joachim Müller adds: "Chemroy's activities in the food and nutraceutical markets will allow us to expand this segment, by leveraging our relationships with global partners." According to the company, Azelis has well established relationships with the majority of Chemroy's principals.
