How to Reach Us

Chemspec Europe 2020 takes place at Koelnmesse in Germany. International flight connections as well as the excellent local infrastructure make the venue easily accessible by plane, car and public transport.

By Plane

The Koelnmesse exhibition centre can be reached quickly and easily from the Cologne-Bonn Airport (approx. 16km). Düsseldorf Airport, the largest Airport in the North Rhine-Westphalia, is also just a short train ride away (approx. 65km). Both airports have excellent international and domestic flight connections.

Public Transport

Cologne-Bonn Airport has its own station called "Köln/Bonn Flughafen". You can either take the suburban railway line S13 (in the direction of Horrem) or the Regional Express (in the direction of Mönchengladbach) to the station "Köln Messe/ Deutz". The journey takes about 12 minutes.

Düsseldorf Airport has its own station called "Flughafen Düsseldorf". The SkyTrain will take you from the terminal to the station "Düsseldorf Flughafen" where you can take a Regional Express (in the direction of Aachen or Koblenz) to the station "Köln Messe/ Deutz". The journey takes about 45 minutes.

Depending on traffic, it takes about 15 minutes to get from Cologne-Bonn Airport to Koelnmesse by taxi. Taxis can be found outside both terminal buildings.

Taxis at Düsseldorf Airport are available at designated taxi ranks on the arrivals and departures level. A one-way ride to Koelnmesse takes approximately 50 minutes.

By Car

Ten motorways lead into Cologne’s beltway which leads you directly to the exhibition centre. Simply follow the green signs marked „Koelnmesse”.

Low Emission Zone

Most of Cologne’s metropolitan area is a low emission zone. Only vehicles that fulfil the EU exhaust standards are permitted to enter the city centre. They require an official sticker for emission group 4 (green sticker) that must be displayed on every vehicle’s windshield. These regulations also apply to visitors from abroad. For more information on how to obtain a sticker, please visit

Koelnmesse is located outside the low emission zone. Displaying the aforementioned sticker is not mandatory. Directions on how to get to the exhibition centre without travelling through the low emission zone can be found on the website of Koelnmesse.

A total of approx. 14,500 parking spaces are available to all visitors at the Koelnmesse exhibition grounds. Exhibition entrances can be reached on foot or by using complimentary shuttle buses.
