Baerlocher Finishes Expansion of its Malaysian Production Site

German plastics additives manufacturer Baerlocher completed the expansion of its Malaysian site in Seremban, south of Kuala Lumpur. The company said it invested more than $10 million in the construction of a new warehouse and an office building, as well as an additional production line for metal stearates with a capacity of 10,000 t/y.

In Seremban, the company produces PVC stabilizers and additives for polyolefins, along with zinc and calcium stearates for the ASEAN markets, South Korea, Japan, Australia and the Middle East.

“With the higher demand and market share increasing year by year, we foresee an upturn in production. With the expansion of production, storage and management capacities, we are well prepared for further growth”, said Sethu Palaniappan, managing director of Baerlocher Malaysia.

Baerlocher Malaysia is one of the leading suppliers of stabilizers and additives for the plastics industry in Asia. The company’s focus in the PVC sector is on manufacturers of pipes, cables and window profiles. The customers for metal stearates origin from the petrochemical and rubber industries as well as downstream masterbatchers, compounders and the construction industry.
